He did not look clean at all, and didn't even wash his hands, (however, he did put on some gloves). While we were waiting, I got a good look at the cook. Then we stood at the counter and waited for our meals. We placed our order with the cook, and went to go pay. Now this is where things started to roll downhill. He guided us to the order counter, and went to get the cook for that day. "It's more of a grab and go convenient store style" he said. After talking with the gentleman at the register, we were a little disappointed to find out it wasn't an actual restaurant. We decided that marshmallows and coffee wasn't enough to satisfy our hunger, so we decided to get some food there. Not a bad trip, however I cannot say the same with the food.

Sitting around the fire, roasting marshmallows and what not. We had a lot of fun at the station they have up there. Nothing too special if I'm honest but well worth it. We went to a few different places while we were up there. This was definitely on the worse end of experiences when it comes to visiting places in this otherwise really nice state.Ī couple of friends and I decided to travel up north for the weekend to get away from the city. At this point, I asked the guy at the register where I could toss my food, and I left. He pointed me out the manager, and I immediately saw him point towards the guy cooking, and presumably the guy who's messed up the other reviewer's things. I could tell the guy was trying to be as gracious as possible given the situation, but judging by this place's review page, this definitely isn't the first time he's had to deal with this. I asked him if I could speak to the manager about my food. There was this this younger looking man working the register. I obviously decided not to eat it, and went up to the counter. I have no idea how someone can mess up a burger, let alone simple fries. Well apparently I underestimated how, "non-special" it was, as it came to me barely cooked. After the ride, quite hungry, I stopped at this little convenience store they have there, and ordered a cheeseburger and fries, nothing special. I'll try to keep this review relatively brief, as I've seen some other reviews go into more depth about the issues here, but in short, I was invited to go hiking up in New Hampshire a few weeks ago by some of my buddies here, and while I was up, I decided that I wanted to check out some tourist spots in the state, and ended up here.
COG RAILWAY NEW HAMPSHIRE PLUS
Tip to management: Look into winter pricing / groups of 4 'adults' ie 2 adults plus 2 teens as it made it a very expensive trip. Tip to visitors If you can, time yr visit to go to the top. We all feel we have done it, enjoyed it but no need to do again, esp at the price nowadays.

It would have been nice for the kids to go to the top but obv the time of year was prohibitive. I understand post covid that it needs money to survive but the cost to go up means a family of 4 (teens classed as adults) aren't going to afford to pay for all the added extras. I felt this visit was all about the money. When we visited many years ago it was all about the railway. But I think I'd rather pay less and have the option of paying for hot drink/mallows if wanted.
